Links to Hajj (Pilgrimage) and Umrah web sites, including rituals, travel, and photos.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Audio/Video : Congressional Alerts : Top100 : Matrimonials
What's New : What's Cool : Download
The Hajj is pilgrimage the Muslims make to the house of Allah (God) at Masjid al-Haram in Makkah (Mecca), Saudi Arabia. This is where the Ka’bah (qibla) is located. The male Haji (one who performs Hajj) must don an ihram as he makes the pilgrimage (for women, regular clothes are ihram) and perform the Hajj rituals. The Hajj is obligatory on every Muslim at least once in his/her lifetime, if he/she can afford it. Umrah is lesser pilgrimage, and can be performed at any time, and with Hajj as well. Some of the rituals include tawaf (circumbulation) of the Holy Kabah, drinking from the well of Zam Zam, walking back and forth between the hills of Safa and Marwa, pelting the Jamarat, and sacrificing an animal. For historical background, and details on Hajj, umrah, their rituals and differences, please refer to the links below. www.musalman.com/hajj/
